30,000 tracks in 4 years.

I've been subscribed here for nearly 4 years, and just scrobbled my track number 30,000. This is a rather low number, and it's partly explained by the fact that not nearly all music I play is recognized by last.fm (Audioscrobbler for us old-timers). So if last.fm ever releases a plugin for your general CD-stereo, let me know!

Still, this fact made me somewhat realize the relationship I have with music in general. I simply cannot bear some "background noise" playing all the time - often, I just need silence. Both to focus on other things and to, well, think properly. Also, I think it's more worthwhile to actualy listen to the music you hear. And I envy the people who can focus on other tasks, while still being fully able to comprehend the music they are listening to.

In case anyone is wondering, by the way, my track number 30,000 was "La Mer" by Nine Inch Nails. It just felt fitting for the occasion.
